13.11.2011 » Rodrigo: "Cristiano Ronaldo goal scoring records are impressive"
The 20 years old former Real Madrid player, Rodrigo, currently plays for Benfica in Portugal and is seen by many as one of the most promising forwards in Europe these days. Born in Brazil, São Paulo, but holding Spanish citizenship, Rodrigo has been showing a voracious appetite for goal, similarly to Cristiano Ronaldo in Real Madrid. The Spanish player has praised CR7, by saying that his goal scoring records are impressive, moreover in times where defense tends to prevail over attack.
Real Madrid still holds a buying back clause on Rodrigo, set at 12 million euros and that should expire at the end of the current season. However, the Spanish player doesn't seem worried about it and confessed that he's very happy at Benfica, a club that allows him to play and fight for important titles. Rodrigo recent form has called a lot of media attention over him, with 3 goals in the last 4 appearences for the club and an hat-trick while representing the Spanish Under-21 National Team.
Rodrigo: "I see it as a normal thing to happen [to be linked with Real Madrid], because I've been on the club's youth categories for many years. However, right now, I'm a Benfica player and I'm exclusively focused on doing my best for the club. The future belongs to God and I don't know what's going to happen. The only thing I care about is to keep working the way I've been doing and then, what is destined to happen, will simply happen", noted the Spanish player.
Rodrigo was also asked to share his view on Real Madrid's current form, now that he's far from the club. Rodrigo: "It's obvious that Real Madrid is a more solid team than last year. They are really strong and they brought a few more great players to help them this season. I believe that the fight with Barcelona will be very intense now that the gap between both teams has narrowed", noted the Spanish player before making a few remarks on Real Madrid's key player, the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo.

Rodrigo: "Cristiano Ronaldo's goal scoring records are incredible. It's something that we don't see very often in football. In football's modern era, where defense keeps prevailing over attack, scoring near to a goal per match is superb. Cristiano Ronaldo stats are impressive and they just help proving that he is indeed, one of the best football players in the World", said the Benfica player.

Rodrigo: "However, I'm not over-thinking about coming back to Real Madrid and play alongside with Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, or Higuaín.
