One of the most successful footballers of all time, the Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was born on the 5th of February of 1985, in Madeira, Portugal. The island of Madeira is located around three hundred and fifty miles from the coast of Morocco and naturally attracts many tourists from all around the globe. Ronaldo spent his childhood in Funchal, which the region's biggest city. José Dinis Aveiro, Ronaldo's father, worked for a local club called Andorinha, as the equipment manager. His mother, Maria Dolores dos Santos, worked as a cook. Ronaldo's family struggled financially like many other families residing in Funchal. In one of her recent interviews, his mother revealed she wanted to terminate her pregnancy with Ronaldo, but fortunately, her doctor refused to perform an abortion...

From a very young age, it was clear that Cristiano Ronaldo knew his way around a football ball. During his early childhood years, he played for a local club Andorinha before moving to Nacional, where he played for a couple years.
At the age of twelve, he earned his first money. After spending three days playing with Sporting CP, he moved to Alcochete to be closer to Sporting's youth academy. When he was only fourteen years old, he told his mother he wanted to fully focus on his football career.
One year later, Cristiano Ronaldo was diagnosed with a serious heart condition. Shortly after his diagnosis, he underwent surgery and made a full recovery. Just several days after leaving the hospital, he started training.
He debuted for Sporting's B team in 2002. He played only two matches before making it to Sporting's first team, that same year. In twenty-five appearances, he scored three goals. His talent was recognized by Manchester United during that season.
After a decently successful season with the Portuguese football club, Cristiano Ronaldo signed a contract with one of the English football powerhouses, Manchester United, whose games are covered by all major sports betting sites.
