15.10.2021 » Ronaldo already scored more than 800 goals in his career
After another round of international fixtures completed, Cristiano Ronaldo managed to add a total of 4 goals to his already impressive record. He scored the opener against Qatar on October 9 in a 3-0 win for Portugal, but had the best arranged for the next game, against Luxembourg. The 36-year old scored a hat-trick in another World Cup qualifier, which allowed him to reach the 115-goal mark at an international level and 801 goals in every professional game he has played throughout his already long career. This is certainly a number no one would have dared to bet on years ago, even if we had been given a couple free bets for some wild guesses. This year alone, Ronaldo already scored 13 goals for the Portuguese National Team, which includes his 5 goals in the EURO 2020 finals (played in this year's summer, due to the COVID constraints)...
Cristiano Ronaldo - Memorable goals:
The first steps as a professional...
It all started in 2002, when Cristiano Ronaldo made his scoring debut for Sporting CP in a match against Moreirense. From that day until now, the Portuguese legend has been chasing record after record and his goal tally just keeps increasing on a weekly basis. He would end up scoring a total of 5 goals in his first season as a professional footballer, but it was his extraordinary performance against Manchester United in a friendly fixture ahead of his second season in Sporting, that really ignited the journey that changed Cristiano Ronaldo's life.
In England, Ronaldo scored a total of 118 goals between 2003 and 2009, which helped Man United establishing themselves as the main team in the country, but also conquering Europe. He won his first Champions League in 2008, precisely in the year where he also won his first Ballon d'Or. In terms of goals, in the 2007-08 season, clearly his best campaign while wearing a United jersey, he scored 42 goals in 49 appearances for the Red Devils.
The next chapter in Ronaldo's lifestory would take him to Real Madrid in the summer of 2009, after the club agreed to pay a world-record transfer fee of 80 million pounds. In the Spanish club, Ronaldo was ready to show off his best scoring capabilities and netted 450 goals in 438 appearances for the club. That's an average higher of 1 goal per game, in almost half a thousand games for the Merengues. During this time, Ronaldo also won the Champions League in another 4 occasions and also bagged another 4 Ballon d'Ors (2013; 2014; 2016; 2017).
Goals after goals!
After Madrid, the Portuguese star moved to Turin to play for Juventus. A new country and a new club, but the hunger for goals didn't decrease. In his 3 seasons for the Italian giants, Ronaldo scored 101 goals in 133 appearances and became the Serie A top scorer in 2020-2021. He also won all domestic titles in Italy (Serie A; Coppa Italia; Italian Supercup), but the Bianconeri were never close to reach European glory during this period.
Following Turin, Ronaldo made his return to Manchester and it's in his second home that he has been extending his goalscoring record. The Portuguese already scored 5 goals in his first 6 appearances for the club this season and, as usual, he's extremely motivated to keep scoring.
With the Portuguese National Team, Ronaldo already holds the record for the highest goalscorer of all-time, with 115 goals. He also scored 3 goals for the U21 team, 1 for the U20, and 2 goals for the Olympic team.
All together, Ronaldo already scored 801 goals in his professional football career!
