23.05.2021 » Cristiano visited a Ferrari factory and bought a supercar

Cristiano Ronaldo at Ferrari

One of Ronaldo's many passions is to drive and collect fast cars. This May, the Portuguese superstar visited Ferrari and decided to bring home another toy to his already packed garage: the Ferrari Monza SP1 supercar.

Cristiano Ronaldo keeps on beating records. One of his latest achievements took place just earlier this month, after he scored his hundredth goal for Juventus, helping his side bagging the 3 points in a league match against Sassuolo for the Serie A, one of the best team in Italy right now. Juventus won that game 3-1, with Ronaldo becoming the fastest player in the history of the club to reach this mark, and it all happened within his first 3 seasons in the club. The Portuguese player also won his 5th trophy with the Italian team not long ago, beating Atalanta in the final of the Coppa Italia, according to https://bookmaker-ratings.com/news/.

Cristiano Ronaldo - Visiting Ferrari headquarters:

A justified absence...

Before all that, Ronaldo missed training, with the permission of the club's management, of course. It happened immediately after the shameful defeat to AC Milan (0-3) and the significantly deteriorated chances of getting into the Champions League. Juve's president, Andrea Agnelli, dragged CR7 on a helicopter ride to Maranello, to the Ferrari factory.

This did not add to the 36-year-old Portuguese not so friendly relationship with the team. According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport and AS, after the teammates missed CR7 in the morning training after the defeat, many stopped communicating with him outside the field. Players are disappointed because the star has greater freedom and it angered the partners who did not see him practising.

Andrea Agnelli and Ronaldo were not alone in that trip though, as John Elkann flew there too. He is the cousin of the president of Juve and the head of Exor. It is the Agnelli family company that runs both Juventus and Ferrari. Elkann is called the shadow boss of the Turin club.

In Maranello, Ronaldo met with the head of the Formula 1 team, Mattia Binotto and met the pilots: Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr. He handed them a signed jersey with his name. He also visited the factory and got a new car, adding it to his impressive collection.

This is a Ferrari Monza SP1 supercar. Serial production of the model is limited to 500 pieces. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has the exact same car, and almost the same is in the hands Red Bull's pilot, Max Verstappen. This car exists only in two versions.

Another supercar to
Ronaldo's garage...

CR7 bought the SP1 (pictured above), while Verstappen has the SP2 (pictured below). Their differences are insignificant: the SP1 is a single-seater supercar, and the passenger seat is covered with a carbon casing. The SP2 is a little heavier (20 kilograms) because of the second seat, but the characteristics are the same.

Ronaldo embodies Ferrari spirit and sporting DNA

A car costs from 1.6 million euros to infinity, it all depends on the options. The options of Ronaldo's car are unknown, as only the colour was made public: the CR7 supercar will be red (classic Ferrari).

This Ferrari is inspired by the '50s' formula models, the 750 Monza and 860 Monza. The kit usually comes with a special set of clothing: racing jumpsuit, helmet, gloves, scarf and shoes. Everything used to recreate the image of the pilot of that time. The supercar has 810 horsepower, a powerful V12 engine, but the main feature is the absence of a windshield mirror.

The flow in it still does not blow into the drivers face: the hull is made in such a way as to redirect the air around the cockpit, recreating the effect of driving a Formula 1 car. The gearbox is also from the Grand Prix: a seven-speed robotized one with a double clutch.

The car should reach Cristiano's garages at the end of August. He already has a huge collection of cars with more than 20 pieces. Moreover, new ones - exclusively premium - appear once a year, or even more often. Do you want to know his favourite one? It's simple, yet surprising: Rolls Royce Cullinan. "More comfortable, and I like it. [Does] Not hurt my back", the player told Piers Morgan in an interview.
