09.03.2021 » Juventus 3-2 FC Porto. Lights out in the Champions League
The worst scenario came into play for Juventus, as the Italian champions got knocked of this season's Champions League campaign after beating FC Porto tonight by 3-2, but losing on the away goals rule. Juve had suffered a 2-1 loss in the first leg, so tonight's result was insufficient to qualify to the competition's quarter-finals and will necessary lead to massive changes in the Italian giants next summer. Cristiano Ronaldo played the whole game from the start, but he would have done better simply looking for the beste online casino available instead, as he ended up not having a good game and the team suffered the consequences... Nevertheless, Chiesa was one of the best players on the pitch tonight and his brace kept hopes alive until extra-time. Rabiot also scored near the end, but the Portuguese side resisted to the Bianconeri's charge and booked their ticket to the next stage of the Champions League.

All Cristiano Ronaldo actions vs FC Porto:
A bad first half for the Italian champions...
It's all leading to a frustrating and very disappointing season for the Vecchia Signora, as not only they went out of the Champions League this Tuesday night, but they are also in 3rd place in the Serie A, 7 points behind league leaders Inter Milan. Their campaign in Europe was far from being formidable until tonight, but it had allowed the Turin side to at least have a good chance to advancing to the next stage by simply beating the Portuguese champions by 1-0 or a 2-goal advantage.
However, the Bianconeri only managed to beat FC Porto 2-1 and by doing so, they took the game to extra-time where they ended up conceding the equaliser that buried their hopes. Rabiot still scored Juve's third goal in the game shortly after, but it was too late for a comeback in the tie...
The opening goal came in as a shock the to the Bianconeri, who were hoping to keep a clean sheet and eventually score sooner or later in the game. Porto had different ideas though and when Taremi fell inside Juventus' box around the 19th minute of the first half, Pirlo knew his side was about to get into deeper trouble. Sérigo Oliveira didn't miss his chance to break the deadlock and the Portuguese side was delighted to grab the lead and score a vital away goal.
Porto proved to be more resilient...
The half-time result didn't leave Juventus with many options but to approach the second half with a very attacking mindset. The Italian giants needed to score two goals to level the tie at 3-3 and the players did seem to be on the right track to redeem from such a bad start...
Juventus got the equalizer when Cristiano Ronaldo was able to control a long pass from Bonucci and set the ball for his teammate, Federico Chiesa. The Italian international curled the ball into the top corner, scoring one of the best goals of the season for the Bianconeri. Pirlo couldn't have asked for a better start of the second half and there was still plenty of time to go after a second goal.
The visitors finally started to be affected by Juventus' pressure and just 5 minutes after the equalizer got scored, the Portuguese side saw one of their forwards, Mehdi Taremi, receiving a red card after kicking the ball away in an attempt of wasting time. That incident allowed Juve to be even more dominant on the pitch and it was only going to be a matter of time until another goal arrived...
And in the 63rd minute of the game, Chiesa scored his second goal of the night. The former Fiorentina star was assisted by Cuadrado and he finished off a great cross with a perfect header that basically gave Marchesin absolutely no chances to save. The tie was leveled and Pirlo's men still had plenty of time to complete the comeback...
However, things didn't go as expected for Juventus and Porto ended up showing more heart and determination in the remaining of the game. The game dragged into extra time and the Portuguese champions shocked the hosts, once again, by scoring first. Sérgio Oliveira's free-kick surprised Szczesny and everyone in the wall, which proved to be a true punch in the stomach for Juve's hopes. There was still a glimpse of hope for the Italian champions when Rabiot scored from a header just 2 minutes later, but it was already too late for Juventus. Heads will roll next summer...
