09.02.2021 » Juventus 0-0 Inter. The Bianconeri advance to the Coppa Italia final
For the sixth time in the last seven years, Juventus made all the way to the Coppa Italia final. Tonight, a goalless draw against Inter was enough to go through to the competition's final, as the Bianconeri were carrying a 2-1 advantage from the 1st leg, played at the Giuseppe Meazza just a week ago. Cristiano Ronaldo played the whole game for his team, but against the trend of many football predictions, he had one of those rare off nights with Juve and didn't get to score tonight. This was also the first time of the season that the Bianconeiri collected a 0-0 draw, but given the circumstances, no one in Turin will certainly be upset with the scoreline.

All Cristiano Ronaldo actions vs Inter:
Inter had to take more risks...
If there's anything Juventus has been doing well lately, that has to be defending. The Italian champions have secured their 6th clean sheet in their last 7 games in all competitions and the only team who managed to score against Juve in their last 8 games was precisely their opponent from this Tuesday night, Inter Milan. Pirlo's men are building their confidence with positive results both in the Serie A and the Coppa Italia since the beginning of the year and before today's game, Juventus had already earned 10 wins in their last 11 games...
Even though this was a cup game, Pirlo didn't take any risks and played a very strong lineup. Buffon started in goal, while a back-four formed by Alex Sandro and Danilo on the wings, and Demiral next to De Ligt in the centre completed the defensive wall for the Italian champions. The midfield was handed to Rabiot, Bernardeschi, Bentancur and Cuadrado, who tried to support the team attackers, Kulusevski and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The hosts started the game on a better note and dominated possession throughout the first half. However, Inter always looked like the most dangerous side on the pitch, despite a few shot attempts from Ronaldo that kept getting stopped and blocked the Nerazurri.
Two teams with a solid defence...
As expected, Inter grabbed the initiative as they had to cancel Juve's 1-goal advantage from the clash in the 1st leg. One of the best players on the pitch for the Nerazurri was definitely Achraf Hakimi, whose energy on the right wing created multiple problems to Alex Sandro and Demiral in Juventus' defence. On the other hand, Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez couldn't finish any of the chances they had at their disposal and in a game like this, the lack of proficiency in front of goal cost them a lot...
Juventus were clearly more comfortable on the game, as they were fully aware that the clock was on their side. Cristiano Ronaldo had a few shots on target before the final whistle, but Handanovic saved them all and managed to keep Inter's dream of upsetting Juve in Turin and securing the Coppa Italia final until the end of tonight's tie.
This a typical Italian clash, with both teams playing very organized and compact, never losing their awareness to defend well in almost every moment of the game. Juventus seem to have finally found the recipe to concede less goals, which can be a key strength for the upcoming challenges of the season. The Vecchia Signora is still on the chase of Inter and AC Milan on the top of the Serie A and is also preparing their tie with FC Porto for the UEFA Champions League last-16 stage. And if that wasn't motivating enough already , they'll now also play the Coppa Italia next May 19.
