02.02.2021 » Inter 1-2 Juventus. Ronaldo marked the difference!
The Coppa Italia semifinals first leg was played at the Giuseppe Meazza this Tuesday evening, as Inter Milan and Juventus clashed to decide who would take the edge in the tie. Roughly two weeks ago, Juve were handed a harsh loss from Inter in this very stadium for the Serie A, but this time, the story would be completely different thanks to the usual suspect, Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored a brace in a 2-1 win. Despite a good start from the hosts, who grabbed the lead in the 9th minute of the first half, the Italian champions relied on Ronaldo to respond with two goals and put them closer to another presence in the Coppa Italia final. Ronaldo, who will turn 36 next Friday, has now already scored 22 goals in all competitions this season. The second leg will be played next week and for those planning on placing a bet, we recommend looking at BetX.com, the leading sports betting website with a wide range of free bets from the leading bookies and expert betting tips across a wide range of sports.

All Cristiano Ronaldo actions vs Inter:
Much more than a cup tie...
On January 17, Andrea Pirlo's men played Inter in Milan in a very important fixture for the Serie A and the hosts imposed the Bianconeri a traumatic 2-0 loss. That forced Juventus to step back in the title fight and to adjust their tactics and mindset for the challenges ahead. As a result and including this Tuesday's win against Inter, the Italian champions are now on a 5-game winning streak, the best of the season so far...
Pirlo opted to make multiple changes to his starting lineup this Tuesday, starting with Buffon taking his spot in goal. The defence was formed by Cuadrado on the right, Alex Sandro on the left and De Ligt next to Demiral in the centre. Juventus' midfield was taken by Rabiot, Bentancur, McKennie and Bernardeschi, while the attack had Dejan Kulusveski and Cristiano Ronaldo ready to create problems to Inter's defence.
Both sides had their own share of unvailable players for this match. Juventus couldn't count with Aaron Ramsey and Paulo Dybala, while Inter were deprived of Achraf and Lukaku, both suspended. Nevertheless, the motivation levels were quite high, as not only they were playing a Coppa Italia semifinals, but winning today could also be perceived as a strong statement for the rest of the Serie A campaign.
Cristiano Ronaldo shows up...
The opening goal was scored in the 9th minute of the first half, when a good cross from Barella found Lautaro Martinez inside the box. The Argentine forward won his duel with Matthijs De Ligt by anticipating the Dutch defender and with a clean finish he beat Gianluigi Buffon, who looked like he could have done a bit better blocking the shot. Nevertheless, the hosts were in front and Juventus had to go after the equalizer...
Roughly 15 minutes later, Juventus earned a penalty-kick when Juan Cuadrado got fouled inside the box. The Colombian was attempting to reach a cross from Bernardeschi, but Ashley Young pulled him by the arm and sent him to the ground. The referee didn't point to the spot immediately, but after consulting the VAR, he ended up awarding Juventus the penatly-kick. Ronaldo, as usual, had no trouble to beat the goalkeeper and the champions were back in the game.
The Vecchia Signora wasn't happy with the draw though and they would complete the comeback in the 35th minute, thanks to another Cristiano Ronaldo goal. The Portuguese forward was quick to respond to a mistake from Alessandro Bastoni, and after stealing the ball from the Nerazurri defender, he hit the back of an empty net by using his left boot, granting Juventus the lead and a 1-goal advantage for the second leg. As for Ronaldo, he has now scored 22 goals for Juventus this season and his best is yet to come...
