07.07.2020 » AC Milan 4-2 Juventus. A shocking result at the San Siro!
Juventus have finally dropped points in the Serie A title race, after wrapping up 7 consecutive league wins since February 16. Tonight, the Bianconeri visited the San Siro to face AC Milan and got badly beaten by 4-2. Cristiano Ronaldo still scored one of the visitors' goals to put them 2 goals up in the beginning of the second half, but everything fell apart when Zlatan Ibrahimovic ignited the spark for the Rossoneri's comeback. The hosts reacted fiercely and slammed Juve's hopes for a good result tonight, by scoring a total of 4 goals in 18 minutes, as reported on the livescores from Siamsport.tv. The Italian champions will now need to refocus and prepare for the next battle scheduled for this Saturday, a very difficult game in Turin against Atalanta.

Not much story in the 1st half...
Juventus came into tonight's game knowing that two of their usual starters couldn't give their contribution on the pitch due to suspension. That was the case with both De Ligt and Paulo Dybala, who were shown yellow cards in the Bianconeri's previous league game against Torino.
With that in mind, Sarri prepared a few changed to his side and it started by switching Buffon for Szczesny in goal. The defense had Danilo and Cuadrado as left and right-backs, while Rugani replaced De Ligt to pair up with Bonucci in the center. In midfield, nothing changed in the Vecchia Signora, as Pjanic, Rabiot and Bentancur took their usual positions, supporting an attacking trio with Bernardeschi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gonzalo Higuaín, who replaced Paulo Dybala in tonight's game.
There were no goals in the first half and the most dangerous play was actually a shot from Ronaldo from just outside the box. The Portuguese' strike got slightly deflected on a defender's leg though and ended up going wide. Nevertheless, that was the only noteworthy moment from the first 45 minutes as the match was clearly lacking emotion and intensity. The best was saved for the second half though...
A carousel of goals in the 2nd half...
As soon as the second half started, Juventus snatched a goal to break the deadlock and what a goal that was. The former PSG midfielder, Adrien Rabiot, left Theo Hernandez behind in a terrific run forward and finished off his play with a brilliant shot from well outside the box. The French player used his left foot to strike the ball straight into the top corner and make it 1-0 for the Italian champions.
A few minutes later, in the 53rd minute of the game, Cristiano Ronaldo extended his goalscoring streak by making it 2-0 for the Bianconeri. The Portuguese forward, who had already scored in his previous 4 league games, collected a long ball from Cuadrado and found himself in a 1-on-1 situation against Donnarumma. As usual, Ronaldo didn't feel the pressure and easily beat the Italian goalkeeper to score his 26th league goal this season.
However, the game was far from being over... The hosts reacted extremely well and their first response came from a penalty-kick goal scored by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, around the 62nd minute of the game. The Swedish international scored his 5th Serie A goal since he returned to the Rossoneri and basically sparked a memorable comeback at the San Siro.
Milan succeeded in sending things back to square one in the 66th minute, when Franck Kessié penalized the Italian champions for defending extremely poor. The Bianconeri's defense was strangely falling apart and it was still going to get worse in the minutes ahead.
The 3-2 took place in the 67th minute, when the Portuguese forward, Rafael Leão, benefited from the complacency of Juve's defense to beat Szczesny for the third time on the night. The last nail in the coffin was hammered by Ante Rebic, as the Croatian finished off a good attacking play with a powerful and well placed strike. It was a disastrous Bianconeri performance in the second half and Juventus will now have a chance to redeem next Saturday, when they host Atalanta in Turin.
