02.02.2020 » Juventus 3-0 Fiorentina. Ronaldo extends his scoring streak
Juventus have returned to winning ways in the Serie A, after hosting and beating Fiorentina by 3-0 earlier today, at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. The Bianconeri controlled the game with easy and counted with Cristiano Ronaldo goals to build a comfortable win over a side who is currently sitting in 14th place in the Serie A. The Portuguese forward, who scored a double today and both from the penalty spot, has now extended his scoring streak to 9 consecutive league games. The hosts' third and final goal of the day was scored by De Ligt, his second in the Serie A since he arrived to Italy last summer.

The only possible reaction...
Following the 2-1 loss inflicted by Napoli just a week ago, Juventus needed to react fast in order to protect their Serie A leadership and the only way to do that was to win their game today, against Fiorentina. The Bianconeri may still be the major favorites to win the Italian league, but both Lazio and Inter Milan keep pressuring the champions on the top of the table and any distraction could easily turn out to be very costly at the end of the season.
Maurizzio Sarri only made 2 changes to his side coming off the loss against Napoli. Szczesny kept his spot in goal and the back-four in defense was also left untouched. Alex Sandro on the left, Cuadrado on the right and Bonucci next to De Ligt in the center built the wall for the Italian champions. In midfield, Rabiot replaced Matuidi and played next to Pjanic and Bentancur. Upfront, Douglas Costa stepped in for Dybala and partnered up with Gonzalo Higuaín and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The last time the two teams had met in the Serie A, Juventus were held to a goalless draw in Florence and dropped 2 valuable points in the title race. La Viola has disappointed quite a bit ever since though and their league position (14th spot) speaks for itself. Juventus, on the other hand, has not slipped that many times since that 0-0 draw in September and has been leading the Serie A since that day...
Ronaldo is insatiable...
Today and thanks to a double from Cristiano Ronaldo and a goal from De Ligt, Juventus crushed Fiorentina in a 3-0 win and made sure they kept both Lazio and Inter several points behind them. The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star scored twice and both times from the penalty spot.
The opening goal took place in the 40th minute, a few instants after Pjanic saw his shot being blocked by a Fiorentina defender's arm. The referee was advised to check the incident with the VAR and decided to point to the spot after reviewing the play. Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up to the plate and converted the penalty with class, making it 1-0 for Juventus.
The 2-0 came in later in the second half, in the 80th minute. Once again, the hosts benefited from a penalty-kick, this time following a good attacking initiative from Rodrigo Bentancur. The Uruguay international slalomed between a couple defenders just before being blocked by Checcherini inside the box. The referee didn't hesitate and immediately pointed to the spot, allowing Cristiano Ronaldo to score his second goal of the night his complete his 9th consecutive league game always scoring at least one goal.
The last goal of the night that set the final score in 3-0 in favor of the Bianconeri was scored already inside added time, when Dybala's corner found De Ligt free of marking inside the box. The Dutchman had no trouble in heading the ball into the back of the net and the Vecchia Signora sealed the win with a 3-0 scoreline.
