12.01.2020 » AS Roma 1-2 Juventus. Ronaldo helps winning the 3 points in Rome
Tough job for Juventus in this Serie A fixture, as the Italian champions travelled to the capital to face AS Roma, following Inter Milan's slip-up against Atalanta this past Saturday. Nevertheless, the Vecchia Signora managed to grab the 3 points in a 2-1 win, thanks to goals from Merih Demiral and Cristiano Ronaldo. The visitors surprised the hosts very early in the first half and they found themselves in front with a 2-goal lead before the first 10 minutes of the game. For Juve, it was almost like winning the jackpot in one of the casinos listed at HolyMolyCasinos.com, but with a lot of game time left on the clock. After that, Roma naturally went after the comeback, but the best they've done was to reduce the lead to 1 goal and set the final score in 2-1. Juventus are now alone on the top of the Serie A standings, as Inter Milan have fell 2 points behind in the title race.

Winter champions!
Juventus are winter champions in the Serie A, thanks to tonight's 3 points earned against AS Roma and Inter Milan's 1-1 draw against Atalanta last night. With 19 fixtures played in the league, the Bianconeri are 2 points ahead of their rivals Internazionale and the second half of the Serie A could still see a third team joining the title race. Lazio is right behind the two Italian giants and if they win their game in hand, they'll sit just 3 points behind the league leaders, Juventus.
Today, the Vecchia Signora seemed to have everything in control when they surprised their opponents with 2 goals in less than 10 minutes after the game had started. The Romans were coming off a 2-0 home loss against Torino and once they saw the all mighty Juventus repeating the same scoreline just a few minutes after kickoff, they certainly feared they could be upon a nightmare of a result. However, they showed character and personality and the story of the game was slightly different...
This Sunday, Sarri decided to play the exact same lineup he had used in his pervious game against Cagliari. Szczesny played in goal, with Alex Sandro on the left, Cuadrado on the right, and Bonucci pairing with Demiral in the center. In midfield, Matuidi, Pjanic, Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey operated the Bianconeri's machine, allowing Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala to only worry with breaking the defense upfront...
A result better than the performance...
The opener was scored very early in the game, when Demiral finished a long cross from Dybala with less than 3 minutes played in the first half. The Turkish defender has been in excellent form in the last weeks and scored his first goal in a Juventus jersey since he arrived to the club this last summer. Unfortunately, the 21-year old would injury himself in the knee a few mintues after and was forced to leave the pitch...
The visitors' second goal came shortly after their first and it all happened thanks to a big mistake from Jordan Veretout. The French midfielder lost possession in a forbidden area, when Paulo Dybala approached him from behind to steal the ball and immediately storm into the penalty box. The Frenchman kind of panicked and ended up fouling Dybala, leaving the referee no choice but to point to the spot. Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up to convert from the penalty mark and easily made it 2-0 for the Italian champions. It was Ronaldo's 16th goal for Juventus this season and his 14th in the Serie A.
The 2-goal lead earned so early in the game has made most of us think this could turn out to be a walk in the park for the Bianconeri. However, the Romans still had a word to say and their reaction has thrown Juventus against the ropes throughout the rest of the game. They may have only scored a single goal until the referee's final whistle when Diego Perotti reduced the scoreline to 2-1 in the 68th minute, but the truth is that Juventus allowed their opponents to dominate the game and they were fortunate to leave Rome with the 3 points.
