20.11.2019 » Håland could be the perfect pupil for Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo and Haland could play together in Juventus

Ronaldo have joined Juventus in the summer of 2018 and ever since he landed in Turin, he has seen his attacking partners rotating quite a bit. The next on the line could be the Norwegian wonderboy, Erling Braut Håland, who has been in top form in the Champions League this season.

With the exception of Kylian Mbappé, Erling Braut Håland must be the hottest young prospect in world football at present, with any transfer fee suggested for the 19 year-old Leeds-born Norwegian international striker seemingly going up by the day. Håland has been an absolute revelation since joining FC Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga on a five-year contract in January 2019. The teenager has scored a remarkable 26 goals in 18 games in all competitions this season, including five hat-tricks and scoring in each of his four appearances in the Champions League – that's Cristiano Ronaldo levels of goalscoring!

Erling Braut Håland - Rising talent:

The chase for talent

Just about any top club you could think of has been linked with Håland this season and when he moves from FC Salzburg he will undoubtedly be able to command a weekly salary in casino numbers.

There is intense media interest in Håland throughout the world and he's already so prolific in front of goal that he's always among the favourites in the goalscorer betting markets at leading bookmakers such as Norskcasino.

Three of the clubs said to be hot on the trail of Håland are Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus - all clubs that Ronaldo has starred for of course.

A reunion with Ole Gunnar Solskjær at Old Trafford is currently seen as the most likely move in the special football betting markets, although one certainly can't discount any of the major European powers or, given their close ties with FC Salzburg, RB Leipzig.

Lessons from the master

The pick of the clubs from Håland's perspective could be Juve, where he would have the chance to play alongside and learn from the master himself; Ronaldo.

Juventus have a number of veteran players on their books, not least Cristiano of course, and they could do with bringing in a few younger players.

Ronaldo signed a 4-year deal with Juventus upon joining them in the summer of 2018 so, although his relationship with Maurizio Sarri looks as though it's perhaps somewhat strained at present following Cristiano twice being substituted in recent games, he still has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract.

Fresh blood at Juve

Ronaldo hasn't been at his best of late and although age has to be a possible factor, it might also be a case of the players alongside him not suiting his style. Perhaps the addition of a young, raw talent like Håland would give him a fresh enthusiasm and push him to achieve ever more incredible feats.

There's a distinct possibility that a vacancy for a central striker alongside Ronaldo could open up for Håland in the near future.

Gonzalo Higuaín turns 32 in December and, although he's clearly a player Sarri likes (having had him on loan at Chelsea for half-a-season last term), the Argentinean is not the goal-scoring machine he once was.

Other transfer gossip...

Then, there's the 33 year-old Croatian veteran Mario Mandžukić, who is seemingly destined for departure from Juve in the January transfer window.

He's been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford, which would make more sense than Håland going there. The Red Devils really need an experienced target man (rather than another young forward) following their failure to replace Romelu Lukaku in the summer. Mandžukić looks the perfect short-term option.

It's also worth noting that Solskjær was Molde manager in 2018 when Håland was there and compared Håland's style of play to that of Lukaku. Håland's abilities were well documented even then and, given his links, Solskjær could surely have maneuvered the youngster towards Old Trafford at a bargain price (having cost Salzburg a reported €5 million)...

It leaves the door ajar for Juventus, where an attacking combination of Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala and Håland could see them dominate domestic and European club football over the next few years.
