24.07.2019 » Juventus 1-1 Inter. The Vecchia Signora wins the penalty shootout
Juventus pre-season tour continues and today it was time for the Vecchia Signora to face one of their biggest Italian rivals, Internazionale. The two sides clashed in Nanjing, China, but none of them was able to grab the win in regular time. For those who may have looked for odds on some of the best bookmakers listed at https://www.soccerbetting365.com/, they certainly felt tempted to bet on a draw which was priced at 4.50. A 1-1 draw after 90 minutes of gameplay sent both teams to a penalty shootout and there, Juventus proved to be more efficient from the spot, beating Inter by 4-3. Cristiano Ronaldo scored the equalizer in regular time, as well as one of his team’s penalties. It was a good appetizer for the upcoming Serie A, even though most bookmakers currently have Juventus as major favorites to win every competition in Italy.

A Derby d'Italia in... China!
Just like in the previous game against Tottenham, Sarri played a quite strong lineup, hoping to get his first win as a Juventus manager. Szczesny played in goal, Cancelo and De Sciglio on the sidelines, while Bonucci teamed up with 19-year old Matthijs De Ligt. In midfield, Rabiot also made his debut and played next to Matuidi and Pjanic. The attacking trio was formed by Bernardeschi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gonzalo Higuaín, as Sarri preferred to bench Mandzukic this time around.
Overall speaking, today’s derby was an even match. Both sides created chances to score in both halves, with Inter being slightly superior in the first 45 minutes, while Juve came out stronger after the break. Curiously, that's also what happened in the game against Spurs, last Sunday.
The opener took place very early in the game, when Juventus' new signing Matthijs De Ligt found himself on the wrong place at the wrong time and deflected a cross from a corner kick into his own goal. Szczesny didn't even get a chance to block it and Inter found themselves in front following a quite lucky play...
Ronaldo comes to the rescue!
The Vecchia Signora's reaction was saved for the second half and once again, it would be Cristiano Ronaldo taking the responsibility to lead the charge. The Portuguese superstar got fouled near one of the edges of the box and he obviously didn't hesitate in immediately grabbing the ball to shoot one of his trademark free-kicks. And just like it had happened in Inter's goal, the Bianconeri also enjoyed some luck in the equalizer, as Ronaldo's free-kick got deflected before tricking Daniele Padelli and hitting the back of the net. All back to square one!
There wouldn't be more goals until the final whistle and the two teams went straight to a penalty shootout after the 1-1 scoreline in regular time. From the penalty spot, Juventus proved to be more focused and scored their first 3 attempts, one by Cancelo, then Ronaldo and lastly Emre Can. Inter on the other hand, missed 2 out of 3, as Ranocchia and Longo both missed their shots. Juventus would then miss two in a row when Rabiot and Bernardeschi failed to convert their penalties, but Inter also missed one more by Borja Valero, which allowed Demiral to score the winning goal. 4-3 in penalties for the Bianconeri!Juventus line-up vs Inter:
Goalkeeper: Szczesny
Defenders: De Sciglio, De Ligt, Bonucci, João Cancelo
Midfielders: Rabiot, Matuidi, Pjanic
Attackers: Bernardeschi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Higuaín.
