01.12.2018 » Fiorentina 0-3 Juventus. Can anyone stop Juventus in Italy?

Cristiano Ronaldo strike in Fiorentina vs Juventus

Juventus are unstoppable in Italy and tonight their victim was Fiorentina, who prior to this game had the 2nd best defence of the league. Cristiano Ronaldo scored again and helped his team sealing a 3-0 win that now puts even more pressure on Napoli and Inter.

Juventus are sailing in their own waters in the Serie A, as they added another win to their records following tonight's 3-0 beating in Florence, against Fiorentina. The Italian champions are yet to lose a game in the Serie A this season and they are now 11 points clear of second placed Napoli and 12 points ahead of Inter, who they face next week. This evening, the Vecchia Signora broke the deadlock with a goal from the 21-year old Bentancur and then saw the captain Giorgio Chiellini extending the lead from a header. Cristiano Ronaldo would seal the deal in the 79th minute from the penalty spot, scoring his 10th Serie A goal this season and tying with Piatek in first place on the league's top scorers standings.

All Cristiano Ronaldo actions vs Fiorentina:

Szczesny held the fort

Even as the competition gets more difficult, Juventus still find a way to keep on winning. Today, their latest victim was Fiorentina, who put up a good effort and truthfully, the 3-0 scoreline was probably a bit harsh. Nevertheless, Juventus keep on extending their lead at the summit of Serie A.

For this matchup, they had Wojciech Szczesny to thank. The Polish keeper was phenomenal, foiling the opponent at every turn. His performance in goal provided stability and confidence for Juventus to see out the match.

The first goal came from one of the more unheralded players this season, Rodrigo Bentacur. All season long, he's been important in the center of the park for The Old Lady and today he found himself on the scoresheet with a cool left-footed finish. Some great 1-2 work from Cristiano Ronaldo and Dybala too. Juventus missed Pjanic today and Bentacur did well at times, even though he found himself without his usual partner...

Safe at the back, letal in the attack

The second was a bit of an odd goal. In the end, it was credited to Giorgio Chiellini, rightfully so, but at first, it appeared Cristiano Ronaldo may have touched the ball from an offside position. After the ball was returned to the box following a failed corner routine, Chiellini reacted quickly firing off a sliding half-volley. The shot was saved by the keeper but it ballooned in the air. Thankfully, neither Chiellini nor CR7 were offside and after review, the goal was awarded to the defender.

Before the match, Fiorentina goalkeeper Adam LaFont had a dream he would save a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty. But CR7 turned those to nightmares with a rocket of a penalty into the roof of the net. It's now 10 goals for Ronaldo in his last 11 Serie A matches and everyone in Italy don't doubt that Ronaldo is just a phenomenon. In fact, the overall records are showing a lot as well. Cristiano Ronaldo has also become the 3rd player to score in 5 consecutive Serie A matches in the 21st century. After a bit of an indifferent start, Ronaldo has risen to the occasion and he's treating Serie A like he's treated every other league he's played in so far.

On another note and looking ahead to the rest of the season, the front three of Ronaldo, Dybala, and Mandzuckic are performing well together. They all rotate to different positions making it hard on defenders to stay stable. There is a lot of potential in this attack and as the season goes on, we should see them scoring even more.
