24.12.2012 » Ronaldo7.net steps forward with a new Christmas donation

Ronaldo7.net Christmas donation for 2012, Target Post

Exactly one year ago, this site has donated $130 dollars to ONEXONE, a charity organization that dedicates to help and support the lives of children in the poorest countries across the World. This year, we're happy to announce that we'll be repeating the initiative and the good news is that everyone can get involved once again, without actually sending any money at all.

For the second year in a row, Ronaldo7.net will be making a donation to a non-profit charity organization called ONEXONE, after our succesful campaign carried last year. Just as it happened 12 months ago, we won't be asking anyone to help us raise the funds for the donation, since the money will be strictly provided by Ronaldo7.net, with the support of our partners from SofaScore.com. However, the exact amount of the donation will depend on the engagement level (likes; shares; comments) we will obtain through a Facebook "Target Post", which will be online at our official FB page (facebook.com/www.ronaldo7.net), by the time you're reading this article. Below, we'll explain in a more detailed way how everything will be processed and how you can participate in this initiative.

ONEXONE - A video showing this charity organization work:

First of all, let us briefly talk about ONEXONE and explain what they do. As mentioned before, they are a non-profit organization dedicated to charity, with a mission to "improve the lives of children in Canada, USA and around the World, with programs dedicated to five fundamental pillars: water, health, education, play and food." Their long-term goals are aligned to the following principles:

- Every child should have access to clean water to drink
- Every child should have enough food to eat
- No child should suffer or sucumb to illness, due to the lack or improper medical care
- School and learning should be a right to every child and not a privilege
- Every kid should have the opportunity to play games and enjoy their childhood

The ONEXONE donation system page, allows us to allocate our funds differently into those 5 pillars, but just like we did last year, we prefer to send it over as a general donation and let the organization decide by themselves about where exactly it is more needed.

We'll now explain how everyone can participate on this Christmas donation initiative, without sending any money at all. We've made a Facebook image post (we call it the "Target Post") this Monday morning (GMT+0) and depending on the virality this "Target Post" will get, we'll commit to donate different values. We'll start with a minimum amount that will be donated no matter how the engagement level turns out to be on Facebook ($100), but we'll also set a few maximum caps in order to avoid going bankrupt. Here's our this simple system will work.

:: For every 100 "Likes" the "Target Post" receives, $10 will be added to the initial and base amount of $100. A maximum cap is set at 500 likes ($10*5=$50).

:: For every 100 "shares" the "Target Post" receives, $10 will be added to the initial and base amounf of $100. A maximum cap is set at 300 shares ($10*3=$30).

:: For every 100 "comments" the "Target Post" receives, $10 will be added to the initial amount of $100. A maximum cap is set at 200 comments ($10*2=$20).

Therefore and as you can see above, the donation we'll make will never be less than $100, but will never go beyond $200, depending on how people will interact (through likes; shares; comments) with the "Target Post". So, in the hypothetical case of getting at least 500 likes, 300 shares and 200 comments on this "Target Post", Ronaldo7.net will donate $200 dollars to ONEXONE ($100 from the initial base amount + $100 from the Facebook initative engagement/virality effect).

This Facebook "Target Post" initiative will be running during the whole Monday (24-12-2012) and will end on midnight (GMT+0).

On a final note, please be aware that this donation initiative will be made by Ronaldo7.net and not by Cristiano Ronaldo himself. We never had any contact with Cristiano Ronaldo or any of his legal representatives, over the 2 years that this website has been running. We remain being a simple fan site, without any official support/link to Cristiano Ronaldo.
